So I don't post on here too often but I need someones help. I went out on Black Friday. The crowds were nuts and too make a long story short....I dropped my phone and cracked the glass on the front. Now the screen works perfectly and is still in tact. It's just the glass thats broken. Do I need to replace the entire LCD or can I just replace the glass? If I need to replace the LCD, is there anything special I should look for on ebay when I purchase the screen replacement kit? Also, are there any good instructions I could follow to replace it? Thank you all in advance.

You just need to replace the glass if the phone works fine and the LCD has not bleed. There are great instructions on ifixit, step by step... just be very patient, take your time getting the old glass off.

Now I have the iPhone 3gs. Is there an easy way to get the glass off without messing up the digitizer? Should I start with a razor blade, then use tweezers to pull it off? Any ideas?

You cannot separate the glass from the touch sensor without a laser. You need to replace the Digitizer on the phone. Here are the instructions for a 3GS:3GS Digitizer Repair
