while trying to hardware mod an iphone jack connector i ran into a problem identifying which side of the jack is up. according to Apple iPod and iPhone (2g, 3g) Dock Interfaces pinout and wiring @ pinouts.ru, it says "at the player (white side up)" but i dont know what "the player" is or which side the "white side" is. please help.
