Gps doesn"t work at all on iphone 3g
Hey guys I have an iphone 3G 16Gb White, i got it through Rogers and its been one year since i got it. For the first time in the long time i got the TomTom app and try my gps. I turned my Location Service ON and WIFI ON,but when i open the app it shows a pop saying do you want to use your location. I click yes and when i try to navigate to a place it says Waiting for signal i left it for more than 30mins still no signal. So i thought i might give it back to Apple, but the issue i have is that mine is jailbroken, and i know if you do that it will void your warranty. So will it be safe? and what should i tell them when i take it to them, because TomTom was a cracked app as well.
So anyone had this issue that can help me will be great.
THX

Do you have the push fix installed?
Go to cydia add the source http://cydia.iphoneil.net and then search for pushfix.
Let it install, reboot, and give the GPS a try again.

Do you require an unlock for your cell service? If you are on your official carrier, I would just restore as a new phone. If still the GPS isn't working, I would contact Apple. I would choose to exclude that you have jailbroken the phone.

Tell them the problem, you can't get a GPS fix. Your GPS chip/wuteva is probably broken.

No I have an Offical carrier, I restored but the gps app just doesn't work, but Google Maps works when connected to internet through wifi, but i did the same with TomTom but still doesn't show up
The problem is that i can tell them that GPS doesn't work but when they ask me which one what should i say because Google maps work but TomTom doesn't. Is there any apps for free that doesn't require internet connection like it will work on wifi so i can show them that as an example instead of TomTom.

Google maps can get a fix based on your WiFi or Cellular location. It doesn't just work with GPS.
Try MotionX Drive Lite.

does that just use my GPS or does it require internet connection
nvm guys found a fix for it
i called apple support and they told me that if its on airplane mode everthing gets turned off, i didnt know that so i turned it off and my tomtom picked it up really fast also it does require any internet connection because i took my sim card out and it still picked it up within 20sec also i had my wifi turned off.
