Found 2G iPhone, battery not charging.
I found a 4GB iPhone today, and I'd like to fix it. I plugged it into a charger, which displayed the red battery icon. I thought this meant that the battery was okay, so I disconnected it and cleaned the smudges and dirt. I plugged the iPhone into the same charger, with nothing appearing on screen. I left the phone plugged in for more than an hour with no luck. Any advice?
Note: I have swapped chargers and outlets, maybe a different result(?)
EDIT: Good News! The iPhone randomly came on, I put it in DFU mode, and now I'm awaiting the 3.1.2 firmware.Last edited by (Name Here); 10-19-2009 at 10:22 PM. Reason: Fixed (?)

and by "found" you mean bought stolen? so there was nothing in the phone showing who the original owner was? no email or phone number or anything? hard to believe.

@thehumble1
By "found" I mean the past tense of the verb "find", not stealing. I saw the unresponsive iPhone at the park. The power button was jammed and the phone kept going in a loop when it finally turned on. I had no other choice but to restore.
