I was trying to pin point the problem and so i took off the entire flex cable(power button, volume, vibrator etc) off the case and it worked fine. So i plugged in the flex cable without the case and then it started turning off again??

How could that cable cause the phone to turn off like that?? Could it be that is isn't an original replacement? cause i bought it off ebay...

That could be the problem, i had this kind of problem with one of my 2G's and unsoldered the battery and resoldered and was fine, try and get a new flex cable and see if it fix's the problem.
