iphone keeps locking and unlocking by itself

for some reason my iphone 3g a couple months ago started randomly locking, unlocking, shutting itself off, and doing random screen captures. Tt doesn't do this all the time, but at least like once a day i'll wanna do something with it and it just starts glitching up. On a sidenote the phone is jailbroken, but it started doing this way before i jailbroke it. any suggestions?

I don't know how to fix it but I think that one(or both) of your power and home buttons are messed up.
