do i need the digitizer? or what? will this product work for me?
DealExtreme: $23.68 Repair Part Replacement Touch Screen/Digitizer Module with Bus Wire for iPhone 3G
or is it just the digitizer and not the screen aswell? thanks alot!

You won't need the digitizer because that is the device that registers the touches on the screen. If the LCD is fine and you can still see everything then you would only need the glass. I think that you can only buy the glass and LCD together so you would need to get that.

You can send a PM to member "cpjr" . he has repaired a ton of these (including one of mine) very respected and knowledgeable.

but if i was going to do it myself, where could i find the cheapest items? i thought that 23 dollars was pretty cheap for the digitizer screen, and neonightmarex said it would work. would you guys recommend it?

If you are extremely techie and familiar with this type of repair I say go for it, if not you can really screw the phone up. This type of repair typically costs around $75.00

yea i saw youtube videos and i realized it is going to be hard, i think i can do it, but then again why not pay the extra 40 dollars and get someone else to do it?
if i can find all supplies for cheaper, i will do it myself. if not ill send it to someone for the 130 dollars.

The approx. $75.00 price would include the parts to repair it and shipping too.
