NEED DFU/ NO Power/Sleep Button

I'm on firmware 3.0 1st gen iphone and want to upgrade to 3.0.1 but my power/sleep/awake button doesnt work. Any way i can get it into DFU mode. I read about one way where I'd have to download a file and execute it in (run) on windows but that was 4 older firmwares and some pep said it didnt work. what can do. FYI no apple warrenty.

everything ive ever heard about this past 1.x doesnt sound good. I think youre out of luck man

3.1 has not been released as of yet. 3.0.1 is available but the only update was for SMS hack. Most have chosen to wait for a fix for this to be available in Cydia.
