I find a 3GS 16g
Hi,
I find a 3GS 16g Iphone without simcard or any data in it... I jailbreak and unlocked it. Can ATT tranck back to me via S/N or IMEI or ICCID?
ThanksLast edited by kpall312; 07-25-2009 at 06:39 PM.

Um no...how do we know you didn't confuse the words "find" with "steal?"
AT&T's going to take this approach especially if the original owner reports their phone lost or stolen.
Good luck getting a new IMEI (see thread below)

Its pretty amazing if you found an iphone without any history at all (contacts, calls, emails, etc) or simcard in it. Apple can pull up the last owner's information...or at least the orginal purchaser.

^ you can't tell me that AT&T wouldn't know who bought/owns the phone by the imei or ser#, sounds a tad strange.
Find the owner dude, you'll be glad you did.

I just get off the phone with AT&T. I have to go to the closest store to be able to get the information of the owner. I'm gonna do it on monday.
This is funny because I left my 3GS in the GYM 3 weeks ago, and a lady returned it to the reception desk.

You have stirred my curiosity. I am wondering how someone would purchase a new 3G[s], take it out of the box, not activate it, never use it ir put a sim card in it and then just lose it. I'm sorry but this to me just sounds a bit far fetched. In your first post you ask "Can they track it back to me" "I'm on T Mobile" Your wondering if you can use it.
Then you state you already have a 3G[s].
So my question would be, where did you find it? What were the circumstances?
I call B S dude......................
Just do the right thing and make sure the original owner gets it back.

If indeed you found it, if indeed your going to give the phone back to the original owner. I say, "KUDOS and PROPS to you, your a good man", you'll sleep better at night knowing you did the right thing.
If this happened to me I would certainly give a cash reward and my sincere thanks to whom ever returned my iPhone. Just sayin'..............
