Housing Swaps
I know there are a lot of posts out there on housing swaps but i want some direct help .. I've done some reaserch and from what ive read its pointless to do a housing swap just because the back is scratched up. Regardless i'm still interested in doing so.
Im very handy with electronics , but i was wondering do you guys have any tips or websites that could get me started? I havent even bought the housing yet so i would greatley appreciate websites!!! Thanks in advance!!! AND YES IM A NOOB TO THIS FORUM

I have recently purchased a new green housing and bezel from ebay to fit my 2g iphone. I use the guides at iFixit: iPod, iBook, & PowerBook Parts and Accessories because they have good instruction and pics.Hope this helps

Yes its really pretty easy if you use the right tools,i.e. spudger tool as to not scratch the phone.

They are a start.
Im in the process of putting together a FULL guide to the 3G/3GS which will be VERY detailed and better than any on the web.

On another side note, I created an account way back when I got my 2G sometime in 07 and hopped on here to learn stuff but never felt compelled to participate until now.
While definitely not a noob at the iphone modding scene (howardforums, icafe, hackint0sh) I'm still new over here.
So like you jhot, I'm trying to make all my posts count for something and to not come across as a noob either.
I think this section is pretty good too and can't wait to see the new walk though as well

Thanks. Hopefully will be up in a week or so'ish. Then I'll break it down to specific repairs/mods.
I just got the "Hardware" forum started not that long ago.
