Default iPhone 3G Dock and S-Video
    Hello,

I was given a dock today which has a Line Out and S-Video port. I plugged my iPhone in, plugged in my S-Video Cable from my TV to the dock, started a video from my iPod and it didn't play. I tried the Line Out as well and that didn't output anything either.

Is it because the iPhone doesn't support video out from the dock? If so, does 3.0 enable this functionality or any worksarounds for this?

    Thanks

Not sure what dock you have.

Maybe this will help you out to figure out dock compatibility.

Hmm...I don't know either. I'll try and get a picture as soon as I can.

Here are the pictures as promised:

There is no setting to enable TV Out? Unless if I'm not looking hard enough.

Plus I believe an iPhone 3G will only work with component or HDMI cables. The dock you have is mainly for iPhone 2G and iPod touch.

Settings/iPod there is a slider for on/off , haven't used one of those so don't know if that will work or not.

There is no on and off switch. Just Widescreen and what format, PAL or NTSC

I tried searching and found nothing, maybe 3.0 helos? Let me try.

Tried it on 3.0 and nothing. Although I don't have any iPod videos on at the moment.

I found a few apps in Cydia which came to have TV Out support,. Here are the ones I tried, none of them worked though.

TVOut - Lets you display your iPhone on a TV, gave the TV a signal but showed nothing.
MxTube - Gave no signal whatsoever
dTunes - Claims to have TV out support but haven't tried.

So I am getting a bit of progress at least.

Any ideas on the things I said above? On how to fix them?

Would it be worth going back to 2.2.1 and trying them apps again?

Now that I have an iPhone 3GS, does that have support for Video Out?
