Thread: Headphone jack piece

  1. #1
    Default Headphone jack piece
So I was performing a housing swap for the first time on a 2g and everything was going fine until the gluing part came. For some reason the corner of the volume piece is blocking me from gluing the headphone piece properly. (Look at picture to see what I mean)

I was wondering if I could just cut off that corner/edge, or if I should just glue the piece right on top of it.

If its being blocked, something isnt seated properly.

I tried moving the piece on the left, but then the buttons didn't fit very well.

It could be the alignment on that aftermarket case. You may have to snip it some.

If you don't mind tell me how you get the headphone jack to fit snugg (see arrow in photo). I asked in a different thread but no luck...

I didn't, in fact the case I had was pretty bad. It seems like the room inside of it is slightly smaller than the original case, so the parts won't fit properly. At first I thought it was just me and my crappy gluing skills, but in the end I bought a new case and was able to finish the swap.
