Thread: Touch Screen Issues on 2G

I bought a brand new condition iPhone 2G from a local person 6 weeks ago. When I bought, I tested it fully and it worked great. I was planning on giving it as a gift to my brother when he got home from Afghanistan so I let it sit in its box for 6 weeks in my garage.
So I go to pull it out today to jailbreak/unlock it and the touch screen has completely stopped working. Won't respond at all.
My garage gets warm but certainly isn't hot and I've left iPhones in there before with no ill effects (I sell quite a few of them lol). Temperature never goes above 84 and it wasn't in the sun.
Any suggestions on what to try? Ever heard of something like this happening? I got a sweet deal on it ($150 for a spotless iPhone) and I know the person wasn't scamming me because I fully tested it and it worked fine.
Any help would be appreciated.

You can try restoring it again...reset all settings.
If it persists than its the digitizer (hardware) and on a 2g you have to replace the entire screen assembly ($130-$150).
