iPhone 3G Hardware help
I have an iPhone 3G which was water damaged. At first it would freeze the second it booted up and got to the lock screen. After a couple weeks I tried it again and now it works and it's fully functional. The only issue is that if it is left unattended in sleep mode for more than a couple minutes the phone becomes unresponsive and I have to hard reset for it to come back on. This only happens if the phone is not plugged in. If the phone is not plugged in and I put the auto lock to never it works just fine also. Does anyone have any ideas on what part needs to be replaced?
Sits in the corner and waits....

The mainboard needs to be probed....there is a short, or a few....

So needs a new logic board then... almost not worth fixing.

Well, possibly......but it may still be fixable. May just need some cleaning or swapping a few trans.
Seriously, one1 will look at it for you and he knows that crap like the back of his hand.
