How to Make a Line Out Wire by Yourself
It's a tutorial that I found on Digg. And it's seems to make an iPhone Line out is an easy thing.
How much is a iPhone Line out like that? I have checked and the price between $9.99 to $99, so I confused. Does anyone get this before? To buy one or to make one by myself, which is better?

How exactly are you wanting to connect it?
I have mine connected to my in dash dvd player through audio and video cables. Works good but it sucks getting use to changing the song on the iphone instead of on the radioI have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something. -- Jackie Mason

this is cool and all, but at these prices, it doesn't seem worth the effort:
Monoprice Link 1
Monoprice Link 2
of course, shipping might be a killer, but they have awesome prices on all kinds of cables and adapters and accessories you might need, not to mention other ipod/iphone accessories

This is impressive. I understand this is an obvious question, however I'm still not sure about the answer. Pins 16 - 30 are the ones on the 1/8" plug then I take it. Because I counted the pins on the connector and its only 15. Therefore I'm guessing that the other 15 pins are on the connector.

just curious what the point of it is? is it better sound that the standard 3.5 jack? or does it charge at the same time? i have a cd deck in my car that has a usb port right next to 3.5 aux port. so i have a spare usb cord and dual ended 3.5 jack that both stay in my car at all times. i'm planning on doing something to hold them together in one neat wire form. possibly heat-shrink tubing or something of the sort just to clean it up. but the usb charging give no noise interference. my car charger always caused a slight whine as i drove.

It does sound better; the reason being that it doesn't go through amplification and then attenuation and then amplification again. The **** output is standard line-level signal which your AUX is tuned to.
Also, the dock offers additional features such as playback control and of course, charging.

I was actually talking about a $30 product from Kensington (Amazon link: Kensington LiquidAUX Deluxe Auxiliary Car Kit with Remote for iPod; iPhone 1G, 3G:Amazon:Electronics)
I bought it a year ago so I'm not sure if anything better came out yet. Anyway, for the price, it's hard to beat (or make). Cradle + charger + audio output + a sexy little wireless remote which, when mounted on the steering wheel, almost gives it a factory look.
