Cracked screen on iPhone 3g 8gb

How much would it normally cost to replace only the broken glass screen on the 3g, the digitizer works but how much for the glass screen because I'm thinking if i should buy the iphone from my friend for $100.

You cant replace JUST the glass. The digitizer is a very very very thin fragile piece of glass fused to the back of the glass. You cant remove the glass without breaking it.

BUT....the glass/digi part is less than $30 on ebay...and it takes a special adhesive to apply it which can be bought from etechparts.com for $6.

ok so I can remove the broken glass screen off the digitizer and then just put on the new glass screen onto the digitizer without breaking it? Or should I just buy a whole new digitizer and glass so I can just connect the 3 cables and have less hassle.

lol one1.... but man I just watched some videos of repairing it but I'm not patient for all that lol but I'm just going to buy it from my friend then how much can I sell it for as is? Maybe around $300...?

broken? no. newer, better iphone in 2 months for $199 and everybody knows it.

Only the touch panel is cracked but it all works fine, the touch screen works normally its just the touch panel thats cracked.

You'd be lucky to get $250. Because like you most people either cant/wont/dont want to replace the glass either. And that makes it not worth it to them. Not when they can do some looking around and find one thats not broken even on ebay for less than $400 now. Cause you gotta figure in what they are going to have to spend in parts to fix it to.

You need a glass + digitizer set. You can pick them up for £20 and its not a hard swap.
