Thread: iPhone 3G Home button is weak?

Default iPhone 3G Home button is weak?
My home button only SOMETIMES works when I press it down really hard but when I press is softly it doesn't work and even sometimes when I press it down really hard it still doesn't work... what's the problem? I just bought this yesterday and it was new but I could tell it's been carried around or touched by some people but it says it was never used and for only $230.

No I bought it from my boy with the box and everything except headphones lol and I looked at the "usage" information in the settings and it shows "-" and it says never restarted statistics so its brand new and I had to use another at&t sim to connect it to my computer. It was never even activated. Damn I remember how nice and new the home button felt when I got it but now it's like pushed down all the way in lol, idk I might just wait until my guy gets a white 3g I can get brand new sealed for $250.

Restored it? LOL. Software doesn't have anything to do with your hardware. Your screen is either slightly sitting "up" towards the bottom near the home button, or you need to pop the screen off and use a small flat blade screwdriver to extend the spring clips out a little to make better contact. If you'd search a little on the net you'd know how the home button operates and it must sit properly against the lower flex board with the screen flat to the bezel to work correctly.

Don't even consider asking me how to remove the screen, G-o-o-g-l-e ......and you'd have known the answer to this yesterday as well.

The "usage" statistic is done daily. He probably restored it before he sold it to you. Home buttons aren't janked when you get them, and a never touched iPhone comes sealed in polyurethane with headphones . Sorry my man, that blows.
