Flex Cable 3's Purpose?

That little holster for it isn't too sensitive, if you shove it in there and it holds it'll usually work.
It's the radio signal I believe for the phone function, so if you screwed it up you'd have quite a bit of difficulty making calls.Respect your elders.

I'm pretty sure i broke the holster tho because it has nothing to plug into now it just kinda hangs there but i can make phone calls fine. I'm even calling my dorm number while shaking my iPhone and i can hear it moving inside but my call is not affected
After some tests im pretty sure it has something to do with the proximity sensor and the hearing part of phone calls. I cant hear people when they call nor does my screen shut off when im on a call and i put my phone close to my face

Flex cable number 3 is for the proximity sensor, and the ear speaker. If you messed up the actually clip on the motherboard, then you will need a new motherboard to fix it.

If you messed up the port on the mainboard, there is no fixing it. Bernie is gonna try to get it swapped by apple.
If it's the actual flex cable, you can buy a new one.

Is this the same thing as the Sensitization Cable? I was just trying to find out the purpose of this cable. I broke off the clip that holds the cable in the tab and im not sure if its still connected or not. My phone works fine though, just wondering what it was for. Thanks in advance!

^There is no "sensitization cable", but #3 goes to the earpiece and proximity sensor. if those work your ok, that "clip" isnt necessary.

hey guys, this connector #3 CAN be fixed. I have done it. all you need is a fine tip soldering iron and a microscope. I have done this service for a few people already.
