Speck of salt under the glass?

ok...it probably isn't a speck of salt, but there is a little round dot of something underneath the touchscreen. and ideas on how to get rid of it without taking it apart? i know there probably isn't, but i can wish

i knew i shouldn't have poked a hole in the speaker to make it louder (mine is a 2G).

Doesn't have anything to do with poking holes in the speaker. It's caused from leaving it in direct sunlight for too long. It's a bubble between the screen layers. It was a problem with earlier 1st Gen iPhones. If you take it to Apple they will replace it.

It doesn't hurt to just go to an Apple store and ask them. I've heard of people out of warranty just getting a swap out but it doesn't work for everyone.

if they did replace it, it would they would still replace it with a 2g one, right?

also, could i relock it so it works as an ipod (i could tell them I am just using it as an iPhone with no service....
