Up until last night I could mute my Jailbroken 3g iPhone. Last night for some reason, it wouldn't work. I can lower the volume but hitting the switch gets me nothing. Is there a specific file related to the operation? I was thinking that perhaps it may have become corrupt and I could just SSH a fresh file and get it working again. Any help is appreciated...

Try a restore your iPhone. it also could be a hardware thing in which case you will need to talk to apple in having phone replaced.iPhone 3G (2.2.1) (Jailbroken)

Can I restore in DFU mode from the Pwned file in iTunes? I was thinking about doing that but putting all my crap back on is a PIA so I wanted to ask some of you helpful guys/girls here first.

I restored it back to factory level, brought it to an Apple store and they pulled the screen and found the wiring had come loose. Took it home and set it free with my previous pwned files. >.<
