iPhone now working only half way!
Ok, I fixed the phone...well kind of. Now everything works EXCEPT the ear piece. The only time I can hear a phone call is when it's on speaker phone. Can anyone help me out?
I've had many problems with my iphone, first a cracked screen then my camera wouldn't work.
So I ordered some opening tools to see if the camera was connected.
I opened it to check and i didn't notice anything out of place so I reassembled and the first time the touch screen would work so I undid the ribbon cables then put them back in.
Now it doesn't turn on at all...my battery was low when i was doing this.
Any ideas?
If not anyone wanna buy a broken iphone?Last edited by King C Wat; 02-18-2009 at 07:40 PM.

^^who ya telling?
This is all the reason for me to go pick up the BB 8900.
I had put it off cause the iPhone was holding me over quite nicely. I can't lie...It will be missed.

When I try doing a restore it gets the spinning wheel and eventually an error 1604
any ideas? I even tried DFU mode and itunes says something like "an ipod has been detected but cannot be properly recognized. Please disconnect and reconnect"
after fondling with it for the past few hours I finally got it to work!
YAY FOR ME!!! This can be closed now.
As for fixing it...i have no idea what i did or didn't do this time aroundLast edited by King C Wat; 02-18-2009 at 12:45 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

^Does the screen cut off when you hold it up to your face???
If not, you didnt connect one of the flex cables back good. Cause there is one just for the earpiece and proximity sensors (cuts screen off).
Flex #3 to be exact.

I see what cpjr is trying to say. I have experienced BOTH of these problems on separate phones. The "no sound through earpiece" can be one of two issues: either the phone thinks headphones are plugged in, or the earpiece itself is broken. Press one of the volume buttons, and if it says "ringer (headphones)" then the issue is the headphone jack.
