It looks identical, the numbers on the back (model #, etc) arent phone specific.

Possible, absolutely. But I dont believe I've seen an aftermarket screen in different colors.

How do these compare as far as quality to the original case? Does it look like it could of been OEM as far as the fitment? Do all of the screw holes and everything match up?
How hard is it to detach the flex cables and reconnect them when putting back together? How long do you think it took you to make the swap?
Also on these online what is the point of the front piece it includes? Is it just a replacement front screen or what? is that part like a plastic overlay over the glass?
Thanks alot for your contribution!

I have seen OEM quality ones but they are about $100. This one in my opinion is an 8/10 compared to OEM for $35, and comes with a new sim tray (in red for me) and plastic buttons, bezel which I did NOT use, I used the original ones. This meant I had to take the bezel off the old back and attach it to the new one, but it was worth it. It looks awesome, has all the screw holes, etc of the original and everything matches up. It feels the same once the phone is back together. The only differences are you can BARELY see some molding lines around the buttons and since I used the original metal bezel off the old back....it took a little sweat getting it to match flush, but it did.
If your a little seasoned with electronics....I dont think its hard at all. Just gotta take your time. I was taking photos and stuff while doing it....but I could do it straight through in probably 1 1/2 hours.
The flex cables arent hard to disconnect, but its like everything else in this thing, pretend like your working with glass.
Tools....#0 phillips screwdriver, tiny flat screwdriver, crazy glue, razor blade and/or ipod opening tools.
The front panel it includes replaces the "glass" (if you will) piece on the phone since the glass, digitizer and LCD are separate on the 3G.......however I will use the original pieces cause theres nothing wrong with them, and I like to use as much OEM as I can.
