Iphone sleep button unresponsive

Like the title says, my sleep button doesn't work at all. Its weird I haven't dropped it or anything it just doesn't do anything. I downloaded the sleep and shutdown apps to get by for now but does anyone have any suggestions?

same here it wont respond when i press it to put into sleep mode but it does respond to the power and restart, is this a hardware issue or software?

try restoring?

i tried restoring also and now my phone is stuck in recovery mode and i can't get out of it
