Thread: My Jailbroken 1.1.1 Review
10-10-2007, 01:45 PM #1My Jailbroken 1.1.1 Review
Earlier today I started the process of jailbreaking my 1.1.1 iphone. The process was not as hard as they made it seem and if you can follow directions you can do it. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE PROCESS BEFORE YOU DO IT!! IF YOU DO NOT MEET THE CRITERIA FOR DOING THIS DO NOT TRY IT. I do not have the link to the thread here but I am sure that everyone has seen it. I will post it if you need it.
Pay attention to one thing, if you already have your phone running the 1.0.2 software DO NOT assume that you can skip the restore process. If you have any apps that you have installed with the installer will show that you already have them installed and will not be visible. So restore your phone and follow the process.
Everything runs smooth on the phone as usual. They did plan for 3rd party apps apparently because when you install multiple applications it automatically scrolls (left to right, like browsing through multiple pages in safari).
Apps: ( I will updated these as I evaluate them )
Summerboard- Does not work! It is all jacked up. Your dock appears at the top of the screen and covers the buttons, and the bottom is blank space.
Customize- Works but some options within the program will not, I believe it is some of the sounds
NullRiver ringtones- Do not work
NES- The few games I have played seemed to work fine
Apollo- Seems to work fine
Mobile RSS- Works
Five Dice- Works
Mobile Finder- Works
rSBT- You can hide applications and rearrange the main springboard I believe, but it is jacked up needless to say.
Mobile Tetris- Works
Sketches- Does not work
Books- Launches, however I do not have any books on my phone to see if it will read. I wouldnt see a problem though
Navision GPS- Works
Mobile To Do List- Works
Voice Notes- Works
Lights Off- Works
SB- Does not work, wont even install
Nikotalke- Works as far as I know, I dont have an account but everything is functional
SendSong- Is functional but I have never used it
SendPics- Works so far
MobileCast- Works as far as I know, everything is functional but I dont do podcasts so I dont know an address to type in
Term vt100- Works
Colloquy- Works, at least its functional, didnt connect to a server
Pig Shooter- Works
XLaunch- Didnt work
TapTap Revolution- Works
Text Edit- Works
......more to come as I have time

Customize started working for me when I rebooted the phone. I can't seem to set certain sounds but others seem to be working fine.

Anybody tried IPSF on 1.1.1? Didn't they say that their phones are still unlocked on 1.1.1 but you couldn't activate and jailbreak it earlier

10-10-2007, 09:41 PM #18Question ? Please help
hey Guys sorry for my ignorance but here is the question... on this link http://www.iphonealley.com/news/ipho...allation-guide right they explain you how to JAILBRAKE your 1.1.1 Iphone ..so you can use it again blah blah and play blah blah .. but it says you can only use it with a AT&T simm card.. So correct me if im wrong, but why do you want to Jailbrake it If with your AT&T simm you can have full access to it.. I know I must have missed something but please tell me what did I ? I have a bloody Iphone that was a 1.0.2 and my boss accidentally whilst trying to unlocked she upgraded it to 1.1.1 I followed Kmac steps and got it back to 1.0.2 but the 4.3._g whatever band is still on it.. SO I have to wait for a Type of JAILBRAKE that will help me activate it and use it with a different simm , since I dont live in the States..and over here we dont have AT&T
Please advice... Im going Crazy..

Jailbreak = read/Write access to the phone
Jailbreak allows you to install 3rd party apps to the phone
It does not allow you to use other carriers SIMS
Now - can we PLEASE keep this thread on topic - which is a review of the apps and other featgures of a jailbroken 1.1.1 phone and NOT turn it into yet another "What does jailbreak mean and will it unlock my phone" thread? If you need answers to those questions you can find them HERE

well cheers man.. you ovbiously know more than what I do... thats very clever of you .. so If you are so clever could you be kind enough to tell me if after the Dev team finally breaks into the 1.1.1 version do you think they might work on a unlock for people to use different carriers on their Iphones ? will they work after I upgrade to 1.1.1 and then downgraded to 1.0.2 .. thanks and that would be my last question cheers
