Default buying an iPhone 5 on eBay which is locked to Ireland three network
    Hi,
I am buying an iPhone 5 on eBay which is locked to Ireland three network.
I don't have Ireland three sim card and live in London.

I am a newbie to jailbreaking.

Question is, will I be able to jailbreak or unlock this phone without having Ireland three sim card? Shall I go ahead with transaction?

    Thanks.

PS: are there chances of fraud in this deal? Thanks.
Can it happen that phone stays useless forever? Seller says that it's brand new, replacement phone.
Also please guide me how shall I jailbreak/unlock it? Thanks.

I am not aware of any unlocking services that support Three in Ireland. I believe that carrier will unlock iPhones for a customer with them, so if you know anyone on their service willing to help, that may be a good avenue to pursue. Without an unlock, your phone will not work on any British network. Without an unlock or Three Ireland SIM, you'll be unable to use the device at all.

The chances of fraud are, as with any transaction, non-zero. Use your best judgment, however, I personally don't like the sound of a "different country new phone" being totally legitimate.
