    Default iPhone Firmware /sbin
I have a iPhone 5 and a iPod Touch 4G. Both on 6.1.2 jailbroken using evasion. I noticed today that I have a package on Cydia called iPhone Firmware (/sbin) on my iPhone 5. My iPod touch does not have this package. If I try to remove this package, Cydia shows me that Cydia Installer, Cydia Translations and sys-cmds will also be removed. I did not proceed.

What is that package and how can I remove it?

    Thanks.

Not sure but I wouldn't remove it just saying.

I'm not jailbroken on anything any more. Running iOS 7 on my iPhone 5 and iPad 4.

Did Cydia update anytime recently? It's probably not on your iPod since it's called "iPhone Firmware /sbin".

Vinay, do you have your iPod set to "User" (normal) or "Hacker" package preference and your iPhone set to "Developer" or "User" (Expert)? That's the most likely explanation.

That package represents a core portion of the iOS filesystem management binaries (such as FSCK or MOUNT_HFS), probably for DPKG dependency/conflict purposes. I think it's very safe to say those binaries on your iPod even if you don't see the package, and you really shouldn't delete it.

Thanks guys. Mystery solved. That package only shows up when I select User - Expert. Does not show up if I select Hacker or Developer.

Also to note that the package also shows up on an iPod if set to User - Expert. Yes, iPhone Firmware (/sbin) on an iPod.
