normally I could handle this but for some reason I just been out of the game although I have an iPhone 5.
So here it is.... I have an iPhone 4 in which I want to restore back to version 5.0.1. This is the GSM version. I got my shsh from Cydia and iShshit. Now using tiny umbrella , I hit tss service and try to restore it from itunes using iOS 5.0.1 which I downloaded but get error message 1600 via recovery and DFU mode. Can someone please point to the right direction. Or is perhaps there is none... Thanks all.

You can use redsnows restore feature under extras/even more. Or you can use ifaith to make a custom stitched firmware with your shsh built into it. Tiny umbrella TSS server method doesn't work on 5.X and up firmware.

I see that iFaith was not made for mac. Only windows at least I see.
**** Got the correct version on redsnow, but when using it to restore, I get an error stating it could not read the ipsw file... Any idea ???

If you are having trouble with redsnow restore feature go to shsh instead and make a stitched 5.0.1 firmware. Then use redsnow to enter pwned dfu and option restore to that stitched 5.0.1 firmware in iTunes.

I also might suspect its my iOS 5.0.1 ispw that might now be good also. Does anyone have stored a legit 5.0.1 iOS version. ???

Go to the downloads section on this forum.Widget-Weather App Now Available! Also with MyLocation Support!
Check out the thread here - Widget-Weather
To install the Widget-Weather app, just go to Cydia and install. This will also remove MyLocation, as it is built in!
Want to protect your JailBreak! Add this repo http://cydia.myrepospace.com/iLEXiNFO/ & Install "iLEX R.A.T."
It will allow you to bring your phone back to a fresh jailbroken state!

Run iFaith as administrator and create a custom IPSW with blobs, then pwn DFU mode and restore with iTunes.
