I'm planning on getting my iphone 5 by the end of the week, early next week. Let's assume 6.1.1 will be pushed out by Apple by then. Will I be able to update to 6.1, without going to the JB broken (presumably) 6.1.1? I never knew if this was possible, but thought once Apple released the new iOS that you could not get to an older version. Thanks.

Just got a new iPhone 5 yesterday and had 6.0.1 on it. Highly doubt it will come out with the latest firmware.

Yeah, I was assuming it would ship with 6.0.1. But, if I wanted to upgrade to the jailbreak-albe 6.1, and Apple had already released 6.1.1 in the meantime (say between now and when I get the phone on Friday), would there be a way to upgrade to just 6.1 instead of going all the way to 6.1.1?

If iOS 6.1.1 came out today n you got your phone by the end end of the week n it has iOS 6.0.1 you won't be able to update to 6.1. It will update straight to 6.1.1.

6.1.1 has been rolled out, i just got a notification on itunes to upgrade.
What I wanted to know is can I still update my iphone 4 to 6.1 and JB it?
is apple still signing 6.1?

They probably stopped signing 6.1.
