Try browsing to IOS 4.1 though your current version is IOS 4.0.
What blobs do you have ? Front page of Cydia should show ur blobs.
If not, use tiny umbrella to check n download blob from Cydia as as as from apple server in order to save the latest blobs.
Once you know your blobs , then you can restore to those firmwares.

use jailbreak redsnow_0.9.15be, click extra<even more<DFU ipsw, make a ipsw equip it with dfu. don't restore it in iTunes, always use redsnow restore to avoid bb update.

shsh blob is important if you want to revert your iOs, currently iOs 6.0.1 jailbreak is tethered, make a clean restore using iTunes.

Go to your hosts file and delete any reference to gs.apple.com so you restore to 6.0.1 by letting apple verify your restore ( error 3194 will not appear )
And restore from springboard or recovery mode.

ok, I can't delete the gs.apple.com in the hosts file because even though I am the only user and admin on this computer, it keeps telling me I can't save in that location.
