12-26-2012, 12:01 PM #13gs from 4-2-1 to 5.1.1. - Error 1600 and white screen ?
I tried updating 4.2.1 3gs to 5.1.1. today. I managed to update it to original ipsw 5.1.1. Then I tried to jailbrake it using redsnow, everything went fine but at the end of the process redsnow showed the text that this was tethered jailbrake. I saw I can use rocky app from cydia to make it untethered. Thats what it did. I installed few more apps. When I restarted the phone it didnt want to go on again. Now as I see its in dfu mode. I tried restoring it via itunes to 5.1.1. again but I get 3194 error, when I fix the host file I get 1600 error and all the way around in the loop. I cannot turn on the phone. Only way I can see its working is when I click fix recovery from tinyumbrella - the screen turns on but its a blank white screen.
What do you suggest I do ?

5.1.1 is already untethered with the latest redsn0w .09.15b3 or absinthe 2.0.4
You are probably stucked in a loop. If you can put it in recovery mode and restore to the latest firmware to get it up first.
To downgrade with 5.1.1 shsh blob create a stitched custom firmware of 5.1.1 using redsn0w , put iPhone into pwned dfu and restore to it.

Thank you for your answer, everything was working fine when I first upgraded to 5.1.1., after that it just wont boot.
I put it in dfu or pwdfu but I cant restore it via itunes (5.1.1 ios - get 1600 error). The cellphone is in restore mode all the time (black screen), just sometimes, when I try to restore, white screen appears, works like that for 10 minutes and then goes off.
Can you help me trough this ?

Thanks again for your answer, I removed the battery for 5 minutes, closed everything back, connected to itunes (the screen was black), itunes said it was in recovery mode, selected original 5.1.1. clicked restore and I got 1600error again

Apple is no longer signing 5.1.1 fw. Unless you have 5.1.1 blob you can restore to this fw . Just restore to 6.0.1
Edit : can = cannot

Ok, now I tried restoring it with 6.0.1 but I get error 3194, when I use tiny umbrella I get 1600 error again. What do you suggest I do ?

Let apple verify your 6.0.1 restore. Don't use TU. go to your hosts file using Notepad as admin and open up Cwindows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts ,edit out the line with gs.apple.com and save it. Close iTunes and reopened it. Now restore to 6.0.1

Ok, I edited hosts file to "220.127.116.11 gs.apple.com" hope that is correct ? Saved it, checked it again - it was saved. I pressed just restore without choosing my ios from my pc, itunes downloaded it . But error 1600 appeared again.

I just saw I can restore the software with red snow, I tried doing that and It was going well, I even saw the apple logo and the progress bar of the restoration (for the first time in 5 days that I saw the screen was working !!! ), but it was not moving, after 5 minutes, the screen went off and since than I cant ever read that iphone is connected on my pc. Could it be I really messed it up ?
Edit 2 :
Restarted the pc, its being red by my pc now. Tried the restore by redsnow again, it has moved from the begining of the progress bar, I will update you on progress.
Edit 3 :
God bless red snow and you, thank you for your help, I made it work on 5.1.1 again.
