Default is it possible update IOS 5.0.1 to 5.1.1 and jailbreak
I plan to update my wife's iPhone 4S currently on iOS 5.0.1 to 5.1.1. Is it possible to get it done now since the apple stopped signing for iOS 5.xx ?
if it's possible what do I need to do?

If your device is not currently jailbroken, you can use TinyUmbrella to try to retrieve them from Cydia. First, under the "Advanced" tab, check the box labeled "Request SHSH from Cydia", then click the button labeled "Save SHSH." Then uncheck that box, and click the "Save SHSH" button again. You will now have any blobs available for your device cached locally.
