Unhappy Errors 3194 and 1600 when trying to restore (broken home button)
    Hey,

Ive been endlessly trying to jailbreak my iPod touch 4G using redsn0w. Since my home button is broken I used redsn0w to try to get it into DFU mode using their feature 'DFU IPSW'.

That successfully put my device into DFU mode and I used iTunes to restore it to the custom IPSW.

Even though that worked, when I tried to jailbreak it I kept getting exploit failed in redsn0w.

The weird part now is it doesnt even let me attempt to jailbreak my device any more. When I click jailbreak the next button is disabled/grayed out and it says my iPod touch is in soft DFU mode.

So after researching how to fix this nothing worked and I decided to just restore it.

Now in iTunes when I try to restore I keep getting errors 3194 and after fixing that I keep getting error 1600.

I read that iReb can fix error 1600 so I used it and even though it eliminated the previous error I was getting error 3194 again.

    Its like a constant loop.

Do you guys know how I can either:

    A. Jailbreak my device? (Is there still hope)
    B. Restore my device? (Doesnt matter if it'll go to factory settings, I just want to use my iPod again).

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you

Go to your hosts file Cwindows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and remove any reference to the line gs.apple.com and then restore to IOS 6.0. As of right now any other firmware lower than IOS 6.0 requires blobs saved in order to restore or downgrade.

You should be able to restore to 6.0 with updated itunes. You can restore from recovery mode.

    Yes.

Anything I can do guys to try to fix this issue? I really need to use my iPod Touch

Any way to kick it out of DFU mode with a broken home button?

I remember in the beginning it successfully accepted the DFU IPSW so maybe its restored or doesnt want to turn on?

If you are letting Apple verify your restore to IOS 6.0, putting your device in DFU mode will throw error 3194. It can only be restored from bootable / Home Screen or recovery mode.
If you have triggered your Ipod into dfu mode, you need to get it out by holding both buttons. Don't know how you going to get it out with a broken Home button.

Try pulling out the cable while restoring to get into recovery mode before it hits error 3194. Have you tried on a different computer ?
