there is no difference between the 2 builds, I think it was Apple's way to "temporarily" halt the jailbreak since it was originally designed for the 9B208, but since then the jailbreak is compatible with both builds...

you can download the 9B208 build and create the custom firmware in sn0wbreeze, then restore in itunes and you will be just fine

if you backed it up in itunes, it is best to use redsn0w instead of sn0wbreeze for this because if you jailbreak BEFORE you restore from itunes backup, you will NOT get anything restored from the backup

you must restore from backup BEFORE you jailbreak, and the backup will only restore appstore apps, no cydia tweaks

now in order to do this, you must use redsn0w to create a NO_BB custom firmware, then restore from that NO_BB, and once its done restoring, you can use redsn0w to jailbreak and "deactivate" or hacktivate (in sn0wbreeze terms)

    Default some clue
omg i am so confused and worried now, i was just about to jailbreak it but i read your message, the thing is i dont want to loose my photos or contacts and songs so i backed up my iphone and dont care about cydia tweaks they are easily installable. I am still on 4.3.3 but i downloaded the 5.1.1 firmware and then went to sn0breeze created a custom ipws and checked activate(hacktivate iphone) and then it created the custom firmware. All i have to do is plug my iphone and put it in pwn dfu mode and jailbreak it.

But i dont understand what you are suggesting! please help me step by step otherwise if i screw up i would have to use my blackberry

hey if you look at the end of this video [url]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbe1uoHUgOE&list=UU-qqUFhNBaQj2GDTbH3cVlQ&index=3&feature=plcp(if you choose not to watch it) that after its jailbroken the option comes up to 1.Setup as a new phone 2. Restore from iCloud backup 3 Restore from itunes backup so if just do the 3rd option wont i get all my backup data back?? or will i loose my jailbreak and my baseband or something?

Follow these steps and you should be OK

    1. Check yours HOSTS file located at C drive -> System32 -> drivers -> etc
Open the HOSTS file using Notepad (run notepad as administrator)
Look for the hosts entry 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com, if you see that, delete it and save the file

    2. Download (if you havent already) redsn0w 0.9.14b1

    3. Open redsn0w, go to EXTRAS -> CUSTOM ISPW and point it to the stock 5.1.1 you downloaded

    4. redsn0w will create for you a NO_BB 5.1.1 ISPW (this is a stock firmware that preserves the baseband with no jailbreak)

    5. click on the PWNED DFU option in redsn0w and follow the instructions to put your iphone in PWNED DFU MODE

    6. Open itunes and HOLD the SHIFT key + Click the Restore button and point it to the NO_BB 5.1.1 ISPW

    7. It should restore successfuly and upon restore, Select the Restore from itunes backup

then check to make sure your apps and photos are still there..

My folders are in a different place as well, navigate to: OS: (C:#) > Windows > system32

Hopefully that will be where your folder is.

Ignore the hashtag symbol, the emoticons are interfering with it :/

If you do it right it will work. Just do as Evo said and you'll be fine.
