Default Stupid Question Regarding 3GS Upgrade From 4.1 To 5.0.1 or 5.1
Hello Everyone...Have A Quick Question For Your All.

I've Jailbroken & Unlocked Several iPhones In The Past For Friends, But Never For Myself, So I'm Not As Knowledgeable As All Of You On These Matters Regarding Upgrades.

I Just Acquired An Unlocked & Jailbroken 3GS, Old Boot Rom, Running iOS 4.1, And BB 6.15.0

I'd Like To Upgrade It To Either 5.0 Or 5.01, And Still Maintain The Unlock & Jailbreak.

As This Phone Was Never Upgraded To 5.0 Or 5.01 Before, Tinyumbrella Already Told Me That It Couldn't Save The Blobs For That OS Version, Only The Blobs For iPhone3GS 4.1 (8B117), iPhone3GS 4.3.3 (8J2), & iPhone3GS 4.3.5 (8L1).

Is There Anyway For Me To Do This, Or Am I Up Poop Creek Without The Paddle & Canoe???

I Appreciate Your Assistance In This Matter, And I Thank You In Advance!

Your 3GS is old Bootrom. You can update to 5.1.1 without problem and jailbreak untethered.

Now For The $10,000 Question...Will I Be Able To Unlock It With Ultrasn0w, Or Will The Unlock Ability Be Gone Once I Upgrade It??

Yes you can. When you update your phone, add this repo to cydia:

    http://repo.iparelhos.com

Install ultrasn0w fixer for iOS 5.1.1, then install ultrasn0w.

Thanks So Much...I Got It To Work, Although I Had To Use A "No BB" Restore To Upgrade Everything.
