i have an iphone 4 that is 4.2.1 and i want to update it to 5.1 but i keep getting errors any help? 1602 and 1601 errors

    You can't update to 5.1 anymore unless you have the SHSH blobs for it.

    i thought apple was still signing it?

    Nope, Apple is signing 5.1.1. You might want to update to it anyway, the untether is just around the corner

    if i update can i keep my baseband which is 3.10.01 and be able to unlock with gevey?

    Yes, you need to restore using a custom firmware to preserve your baseband. You can make one with redsnow
