I just got an iphone 4s (IOS 5.0.1 9A406) and i want to know if there is something that might be useful to backup before jailbreakig it or before upgrading it to 5.1.1.
(as example, i heard that if you don't backup something that i don't know yet what it's you could not downgrade it to 5.0.1 in the future)
thanks in advance!

It's always good to make a backup in iTunes before jailbreaking just in case something goes wrong.

one more question, i have found a lot of threats about how to use SHH blobs once created, but i can't find one where someone explains how to create one.
could someone tell me where can i read something about this?

You don't create them, you just store them. Cydia stores them, so when you want to downgrade or update to a certain firmware just save them to the pc with Tinyumbrella and stitch them to an ipsw
