I have never took one apart so if ya have the experience I say go for it. I would at least take apart what's next to the sensor that are pink. And let them dry for sure.

I've never actually taken the whole phone apart either, just changed a battery. The pink sensors are next to the logic board so I guess I'd have to take apart the whole phone.

Just open it up and leave it sit over night see what that does.

You did put the right battery back in there huh?

Try putting it in some rice. I know it sounds like a crazy idea, but it works. A friend of mine dropped his in a toilet (I have no clue how...) and they tried the rice technique, they let the thing sit in rice for about a week and the thing actually worked! Rice absorbs fluids, so it's a good candidate for this stuff. It's worth a try.

As far as I'm concerned, no. But I'm no hardware expert. That just doesn't look like something that would dry up water...

So you'd recommend me to put the phone in rice overnight, and if that doesn't work then take the phone apart and leave it like that for another night and then see what happens from there?

Thanks for the help. So for rice, I should just get about a bowl of dried rice and put the phone in it so that the phone is completely covered and then leave it in there for about 12 hours?

Took the iPhone apart and let it dry last night. I also opened up the logic board, and the top part (where the black tape type of material is) has like 1 little part of rust on it I think. This is the side opposite to the A4 chip (that side was completely fine). There's some sort of smaller chip on the side there the supposed rust is, not sure what it's called. What should my next move be?

    Pretty sure that's a no.

Rust can't really be removed that easily...

So is that what's causing the temp warning?

Probably your hardware. You *could* delete those strings of text and see what happens. It probably would just stop it from running the executable.

Well to be honest, after taking the back cover off and touching the logic board when the temp warning is up, the logic board is some what abnormally warm. So I think taking out those lines of code wouldn't be a permanent solution.

Well it's probably better to get it fixed than keep it like that. That's why it's displaying it in the first place. So really, I'd try to get it repaired...

But deleting that text would delete the notification though.

Do you think it's possible for me to fix it in any way or would this have to go to Apple?
