Hello, I have attempted to Jailbreak my iphone 3gs
But I mistakenly put the ipad baseband on my phone 5.0.1 OS
My iphone 3gs is not compatible with the baseband I put on mistakenly
Obviously now my phone will not work correctly nor will it work at all... I turn it on get the apple logo and then plug into itunes... After this my phone just turns itself off..
I am not writing here to show off my problem I am hoping for a clear solution explained easy.. I am not good with phone jailbreaking etc.. This is not the type of thing I follow up on... Although if it is a hard job to do then for what ever help I get I will try and keep in contact with that person, and Pay for said help, It won't be much money of course I am only a student
Although I will try to donate/give as much as I can,
Thank you for posting
I am sorry if this has already a fix and I have not noticed it.

Put iphone into dfu mode
Restore to Ofw 4.1
Kick out error 1015
Look at your bb if it is blank then you have bricked your iphone
If it is not blank but 6.15 , then restore to Cfw of 5.0.1

Since bb is blank phone is most likely useless!

Yeah , if it is blank , you can still use it as Itouch

Ok let's start over download redsn0w current one is 0.9.10b5 or use 0.9.10b4 install it on your pc!
Then right click on it run as administrator click jailbreak
Now plug your phone into your pc and then power it of and click next and be ready to follow instructions!
Let it do it's thing it will do some loading and scanning
Next the redsn0w will go to a new screen make sure cydia and iPad baseband is checked! Click next!
Just let it do it's thing!
You will have a iPad baseband you will have to turn off your navigation locator otherwise it will cause you to lose wifi and cellular signal .
Ok so your phone jail broken now.
You can unplug it from the pc the rest or the steps will be on the phone
Next we have to unlock make sure your sim card is out of the phone.
You need to go into cydia and go to manage it will be an icon at the bottom then click on sources we need to add one http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com
Click add source
Let it will install when it's done click on return to cydia
Next click on search and type in
ultrasn0w and install it.
When it is done power your phone off completely off and back on.
Now pop in your sim card.
You should be good to go!
Also once you change your baseband you can't go back! Unfortortunately for thous of us that have the 3GS with the 5.16.05 baseband it's our only choice.
Let me know how it goes

It's likely a newer 3GS that gets bricked when attempting to install the iPad bb. Sucks to say but like everybody else stated, it's done for.

It's come to our attention that any 3GS manufactured after week 35 of 2011 had a hardware change and using the iPad bb will damage the device. So check your device and see if it was manufactured after week 35 of 2011. Otherwise, I'm sure the OP doesn't want to get his hopes up if you're the only one saying it'll be fine when all other signs point to a symptom of the above described.

i.Annie is correct, Apple replaced the baseband chip with a Toshbia baseband chip... Flashing it with 6.15 makes it a nice but expensive brick.. Not even any good as an iPod as you'll never get wifi or Bluetooth to work on it as it's all controlled by the chip. The week varies... 8gig 3GS is about week 28, 16/32gig is week 35 as the newer chip doesn't support the same exploit, done around about the same time they released the 4S.. How's about that... Sneaky huh

Week 28 for 8GB huh, ya learn something new everyday lol. Thanks, I didn't know about that one.

You can also brick your iphone when flashing bb if interrupted.

I think you can replace the baseband chip. If you have experience in taking Iphones, laptops apart and soldering skills it's not that hard. However, if you want someone else to do it this mob will help:

That just seems like more work then it should be. You might be better of just using it as an itouch if you can and buying yourself another device with an unlockable baseband. It might actually be cheaper in the long run.
