upgrade q

I have 3gs jailbroken tethered with redsnow. I went to install corona but its for 5.0.1? I have 5.0,
I dl the latest redsnow. I should be able to jus re jailbreak right or will that erase all my apps and everything?

What if i wanted to upgrade to 5.0.1, how would I do that with jailbroken phone? I understand how to do it with custom ispw to preserve baseband, but I have 5.16.05 so I cant unlock and I guess I dont need to preserve it?

You don't need to upgrade to 5.0.1 , you can run Corona to go untethered .
Every restore will wipe out everything , have to rejiailbreak and setup up your stuffs again.

Ya , I ended up using aptbackup. Then installed 5.0.1, then re jail broke it with latest redsnow.
Cydia kept crashing and was blank. After few times booting it I got it to work and used aptbackup to get all my stuff back.
