Default Successful cfw 5.0.1 restore for 3gs ipad BB, stuck in recovery, Redsn0w gives error

Hi, I'm trying to upgrade my iphone 3gs to ios 5.0.1. This 3gs is old bootrom (positive, the 4th and 5th digits are 20) and running the 6.15 ipad baseband. I have successfully restored the iphone dozens of times with custom firmware. When restore is complete, Itunes detects a device in recovery mode. From my understanding, you should be able to exit recovery mode with TinyUmbrella or Redsn0w. Nothing happens when I choose "Fix Recovery."

Redsn0w (the current 9.10.b3 version) almost won't cooperate with my phone, because if I try to enter pwned DFU mode or jailbreak it immediately jumps to an error "Data not fetched" or mostly "Connected device does not support untethered jailbreak"

In order to do a custom restore, I have been using Pwnage tool to enter pwned DFU mode, because redsn0w won't cooperate. If redsn0w does enter pwned DFU mode, it jumps to the mode immediately before I can do any of the steps so it is clearly not properly entering pwned DFU mode.

I have been reading **** for hours and saw that in TinyUmbrella I should deselect the option about Cydia's Host, I did that and still nothing worked.
I am manually selecting the stock ipsw before trying to do anything in redsn0w.

I even tried downgrading to 4.2.1 and using the old version of greenp0ison to jailbreak just so I can use my phone, but after restoring to 4.2.1, greenp0ison won't jailbreak it.

I'm guessing that my phone is stuck in recovery loop? I have restored it many many times and still have the same response.

    Anyone got any ideas?

This is how you can do it :
Since you can't do a pwned dfu mode but you can do a normal dfu mode.
Normal DFU : With iphone plugged in > Hold both buttons for 10 secs , release Power but keep holding Home until dfu mode is achieved, a beep on your computer.
Make sure hosts file is pointed towards Apple server by deselecting > set hosts file to cydia under TU.
Run itunes and restore to stock 4.1
Use Ireb 5 to kick out error.
Now your you are at emergency screen.

Now use Redsn0w 0.9.6 b6 , browse to stock 4.1 and put your iphone into pwned dfu mode.
Once you are in pwned dfu mode.
Run itunes : shift + restore to custom firmware of 5.0.1.

    Hope this works.

I have tried running tinyumbrella during restores for 5.0.1 and 4.2.1 (and running the server) but I also read that this is pointless for restoring to the current firmware bc it is the current firmware and you aren't having to access shsh for that.

You have the new bootrom, your iphone is stucked permanently at recovery mode and that is why redsn0w detects your iphone wrongly.
Just get it up to 4.1 and then pwned it with redsn0w 0.9.6b6 and restore to cfw of 5.0.1

When i say custom firmware of 5.0.1, you use redsn0w 0.9.10b3 to build a NO_BB update ipsw cfw of 5.0.1 , once restored, jailbreak with same redsn0w to get untethered jailbreak.

Ok, I used the stock ipsw in DFU mode to restore to 4.1. I got error 1015 (iphone screen has cable & itunes logo). I tried to use the current version of redsn0w to "fix recovery" bc im on a mac and cant use recboot. This didnt work, I tried to enter pwned DFU mode and it went immediately w/o going through the steps. After getting error 1015 on my mac, what program should I use to boot out of recovery?

Exit recovery from tiny umbrella can kick it out. Ireb 5 can do it too.
Let me know how it goes
