Default need help before upgrading to 5.0.1!!!

I have a question. I'm on 4.2.1 right now on my iPhone 4 w/ a baseband of 3.10.01 I want to update my firmware to 5.01 but want it to be unlocked and Jailbroken aswell. Will Gevey Ultra work w/ 3.10.01 Baseband if I upgrade to 5.01 and preserve baseband? or do I need to update to 4.35 first to get 4.10.01 baseband then update to 5.01 with preserve baseband? again sorry and TIA!!!

You cannot change your baseband anymore other than updating to 04.11.08 but you can preserve your current baseband for Gevey Unlock.

Yeah that's what I meant so if I update to 5.0.1 while preserving my baseband of 3.10.01 it will still work on Gevey Ultra? Because I kept on seeing Gevey Ultra Unlock with Preserve Baseband of 4.10.01 that's why I thought it's specifically for users with a 4.10.01 Baseband. Can you point me to what software iI need to update from 4.2.1 to 5.0.1 while preserving my baseband of 3.10.01 thanks...

    Use Redsn0w 0.9.10b3 to create a N0_BB ipsw.
Run redsn0w again to put iphone into pwned dfu mode.
    Screen is black.
Run itunes : shift key + restore to N0_bb ipsw
Jailbreak with Redsn0w after the restore and activation.
