Not really even sure where to begin here but I will try and keep it short and to the point. I have my buddies iPhone4 on iOS5, jailbroken in June with Redsn0w, he attempted to upgrade to iOS5.01 and it completed locked up his phone. From iTunes the phone entered into the "plug into iTunes" screen and he had me try and fix it for him. I took the device, downloaded the appropriate RS IPSW software for his version and went to work. I then downloaded Recboot and tinyumbrella and since running those programs the phone is completely stuck in a reboot mode I have never even seen. I tried using command prompts in Terminal w/iRecovery and it isn't even phasing the phone. Basically the loading circle comes up for about 2 min, then the Apple logo comes up w/the load bar under it and the phone immediately goes back to the loading circle and I can't for the life of me figure out what I need to do to get the phone out of this. Nothing at all has worked, I've tried all the holding home and power button numerous times and the phone stays in the loop. If anyone has any suggestions for me I would greatly appreciate. Anything at all. Sorry for the "lamens" version, just wanted to put it right to the point. If you need additional info from me and details regarding the software I've tried reply to this post.
Even thought I didn't understand what really happened, follow this steps to get your phone working :
1) download 5.0.1 for iPhone 4.
2) download redsn0w 0.9.10b3 .
3) put the phone in NORMAL Dfu. Shift + restore in iTunes .
4) let phone boot up normally and put ur sim and activate it .
5) jailbreak using redsn0w .
6) flaunt the jb
I am unable to put the phone in DFU mode, because the only thing the phone is doing is attempting to exit recovery mode, thus using the power/home button to get into DFU mode aren't successful.
