    On Windows Vista/Windows 7:
    Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates

if you still can't find it search your system partition (most likely, C drive) for ".ipsw" without quotes

Still no ipsw except for the once I download and the custom fw!
I haven't download any fw in itunes though!
In recover mode it give out the error 1604!
In Dfu mode it gives the error 2005!
And if I get out of both I go back to the logo loop over and over!

Update: I was able to install the custom fw using ireb & itunes+ umbrella!
    Process went smoothly!
Afterwards the phone went black and I can't seem to turn it off!
    Is it officially bricked?
    Itunes recognize the phone!

the only way to brick an idevice is to smash it with a brick

if you are updating to ios 5.01, tiny umbrella is not necessary and could be causing issues. make sure you have the latest version of itunes installed.

for your setup, i would recommend using the latest sn0wbreeze (right click and run as administrator) to build a custom ipsw on baseband preservation mode, then putting your phone into a pwned dfu mode. next you will select your phone in itunes and shift+click restore and direct it to your cfw. you should have no issues, once you are finished and up and running, jailbreak it with the latest redsn0w (make sure to right click and run as admin)

Before I got your message I was tinkering on tiny umbrella using its fix recovery.
    The phone turned on!
I got this ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting.
Anyways the phone only turns on when I reinstall the custom fw that redsn0w made.
It goes through the entire process updating only to close up and say its in recovery mode.
It doesn't respond to any button when I tried pressing for it!
How do I get it to dfu when I can't see anything lol!

just try to put it into dfu mode, if it doesnt work, hold down the power button for like 20 seconds and try again. i would advise you not to use redsn0w, build your cfw with sn0wbreeze on preserve baseband mode, that method always works for me. do not use tinyumbrella as there is no need to when restoring to ios 5.01 right now
