Making more progress with this. I located my physical .shsh file on my computer and submitted it to Cydia through redsn0w and even before that it had already verified that particular file contained my blob and AP ticket but i submitted it and then queried my ECID to make sure and its there.
Still having trouble with iFaith 1.4.1. I follow the DFU directions perfectly and it keeps timing out and saying it failed to enter DFU mode.
Is it possibly the computer I'm using? It's an HP laptop with windows vista home premium installed. It just doesn't want to recognize my phone in DFU mode through iFaith but i get the popup saying Windows has detected "Apple iPhone DFU Mode" so i don't get what the problem is.
Finally! So in case anyone is curious and this problem arises with someone else. First, make sure iTunes is installed(obviously). Then I had to put my phone into what I thought was DFU mode just based on feel(I turned it off, held Power/Wake for 3 seconds, then started holding home for another 10 seconds then release Power/Wake and keep holding home for 15 seconds. Total of 28 seconds for everything)and plug it into the PC. Then go to Control Panel -> Device Manager -> find the very bottom where it says USB Devices(or something like that) and find the iPhone showing up as Apple Mobile Device(DFU Mode) then right click and click Update Driver then set the source path as C: \Program Files(regular Program Files not Program Files x86 even though it's a 64-bit operating system)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers then click Next and go through all that stuff then restart the computer just in case.
Then when the comp restarts you can open iTunes if you want and it will say it recognizes a device in recovery mode and open iFaith and let iFaith open and start the SHSH blob dump process. It will probably reboot your phone back to the regular screen so just back out of iFaith and open it again, THEN turn the phone off and follow the DFU mode instructions and you'll be home free.
Thank you guys for all your help and I'm frustrated that I had to take these extra steps but hopefully someone will make a tutorial or sticky them for future users who may have trouble like I did.
That's exactly why I can't stand using Windows. I'll use it if i absolutely have to like situations like these but otherwise none of the things that occur in Windows have ever happened to me in OS X. Never had an issue with drivers, never had to reboot in safe mode, etc.
Short story is: it never wanted to connect despite the fact that I KNEW it was in DFU mode. I kept going back to my mac to check and it kept showing up in iTunes so I knew it had to be something with Windows. Finally I just went through the folders and found one called drivers and tried installing from there and it worked. The part that boggles my mind is why wouldn't iTunes install ALL the drivers that came in the software upon initial installation instead of just providing them? It doesn't make any sense. Either way I'm happy it worked out and now I hope my experience can help someone else if they run into that same problem.
