Hey guys i have this iphone 4s on ios 5.0 firmware 1.0.11 and if i update to 5.0.1 then firmware would be 1.0.14 so is it safe to update as iam waiting for unlock..how can i save ios 5.0 shsh inorder to revert later?

No, it is not safe to update. You can save your SHSH using iFaith, which is distributed through this link. http://oron.com/9d0ns5rggw9v
However, saving the SHSH for iOS 5 is useless because if Apple's new security in iOS 5 which stops downgrading between different firmwares within iOS 5 (and higher). iFaith is only useful if you have a previous iOS SHSH, like iOS 4 or 3.

So i should i not update to ios 5.0.1?? Because of baseband update?? Because posixninja said that every one should update to 5.0.1 including a5..but iam waiting for unlock too

About 4s unlock nothing can be said. About updating for jb yes update to 5.0.1
. iFaith does not work on a5 devices.So it's useless for a5 as of nowZ

Can't say. No one except ppl working on the unlock can answer that. But I think it would be for 5.0.1 baseband and above . It's just a guess.

If you upgrade to iOS 5.0.1, than yes, the new baseband may remove your chance of unlocking your iPhone 4S. Chronic Dev Team only releases a few unlocking tools for certain basebands.

I told u before musclenerd is working on an unlock. If and when it's going to be released no one has any idea about it. Members of the dev team might tell if u know em personally

I have an instinct that the 4s unlock would be a hardware level exploit.. The way musclenerd tweeted about it .. If it happens all 4s would be unlocked for life
