I've had this conumdrum bouncing around in my head for a little while and only recently persuaded myself to risk it. I own two A5 devices. A 4S and an iPad 2. I wasn't sure if the upcoming Jailbreak for them would be for 5.0.0 or 5.0.1 and nowhere was particularly clear on the matter. In the end a tweet from pod2g that vaguely and indirectly suggested it was enough to convince me but now @p0sixninja has tweeted quite certainly that yes, A5 users are to update to 5.0.1 before the window closes.
I've seen the thread asking this question here a few times and even asked it myself so it's my hope that this clears up all questions, queries, concerns and all that jazz.
From those two tweets mere hours from each, it doesn't take a genuis to work out that yes, A5 devices are safe to update. (Though as the comments show, there are still some think tanks out there that just can't work it out.)
Hey can we update to 5.0.1?? Without thinkin of baseband update ..im hving iphone 4s and baseband 1.0.11 and if we update it will ve 1.0.14 so is it safe of we are waiting for unlock???
I wouldn't update until all the jailbreaking community posts it up. That way, I know it is completely verified instead of risking some problem with compatibility.
