I have an iPhone 4 on 4.3.1. Jailbroken with redsn0w and unlocked with gevey. Baseband 4.10.01. I am on t-mobile. I want to update to 4.3.3. I am on windows. When I try to shift/restore, I get 3194 error code. If I just hit restore, it gives me the option to update to 4.3.5. I am just wondering if I can update to that and still unlock with gevey. Is there any downsides to 4.3.5 over 4.3.3?
Didn't think you could go to 4.3.5 anymore since apple wasn't signing it anymore. Difference in 4.3.5 then 4.3.3 is 4.3.3 has a untethered jailbreak which 4.3.5 has a tethered
My wife's iTunes on her computer hasn't been updated for a while. I guess thats why it shows it available. I was wondering about it changing the baseband and then not allowing me to unlock. Didn't think about the jailbreak being untethered. Even with the newest redsn0w?
Use custom firmware to preserve baseband. Snowbreeze for windows, pwnage tool for Mac or redsn0w for both. Check your cydia homepage for SSH iOS 4.3.3 and if it's there then use one of the tools mentioned above to create a custom IPSW without the baseband update. Hope this helps.
