cant SSH with winscp or cute ncp 8 what am i doing wrong?!?! plz any 411

i have followed as many step by step guides i can... i have googled all i can... im doing everything they say i should do but i keep getting a "network error: connection refused". i need to see what these 3gb or "other" folder stuff is since i beleive when i used aptbackup and it removed all my app store apps then i re sync'd then with itunes but i read that it may have left app archives there and i need to erase them... please if there is any method to my madness point me in the right direction. thank you in advance.

You MUST have "openssh" installed and enabled on your idevice in order to use Winscp...

Available from Cydia. Enable using SBsettings toggle. Requires "root" password for log in. Default password is "alpine"

Oh and you also need to have your computer and iDevice connected to the same wifi network

How about using ifunbox directly to ssh.. Much easier ;-)

Did have sb settings on, ssh was green from the get go so I tried to log in... Put in my ip root and alpine as password still error. Tried pressing ssh so it turned red then tried to log in, nothing. Error. I'm not completely iPhone stupid if u can beleive it lol. I have follow step by step Instructions even tried a diff password Dottie etc.

Use ifunbox and plug to your pc or use Ifile , did u change the password? Ifunbox does it automatically and I hate it, maybe that happened?

Make sure mobile substrate is latest edition

I just said F it and restored as new phone, then restored from
Earlier back up then re jb'd with the newer version I guess... Back down to .68 or w.e. after jb and about half that b4 so not bad. Thanks for the info those people. Not forgotten.
