re- jailbreaking iphone 4, ios 5.0.1 with redsn0w. Need help asap
I have a iphone 4, that was jailbroken on 4.3.2. I'm updating it to 5.0.1 through itunes, which I just did. Now when the phone reboots, it has a menu that says "Setup as a new phone", "restore from icloud" or "restore from Itunes backup"
The question is, when do I re-jailbreak it? If I retore from itunes backup, it won't know all my apps are legit, unless it's jailbroken first, right?
But again, it doesn't tell you what to do after you updated to ios5. Again, after I updated it, I have a menu on the iphone which gives me those 3 choices. DO I just put it into DFU mode when it's at that menu, then jailbreak, then restore from backup. Or should I do the jailbreak AFTER I restore from backup. I'm just worried about all my apps that will need app sync for them to function if the jailbreak is installed at the end???
I don't know what that means,. I just want to know othe correct steps and WHEN to jailbreak it. That menu on the phone is confusing me, as no tutorials tell you what to do when you get those options after updating to ios 5.0.1
You are basically asking when is the right time to jailbreak so that you can sync all the apps you didnt pay for (warez/cracked apps) back to your phone. That is something no one on MMi can help you with as using the app you used to download and install those apps is illegal and against this forums rules.
Sorry, that's not what I meant. I'm confused at WHICH point to jailbreak the phone. No one, or no tutorial metions that after you updated to ios 5.0.1 from say 4.3.2, after the phone reboots, you are presented with a menu on the phone, "Setup as a new phone", "restore from icloud" or "restore from Itunes backup". I don't know what I'm supposed to do at this point. Are you supposed to jailbreak right then and there, (meaning put it in dfu mode) and go? Or do you want to restore frmo your backup first, and then jailbreak. Why aren't any tutorials telling you?
For everyone it is different. If you are on an official carrier you need to get your phone activated up and running first before jailbreaking. You can restore from your backup if you want your phone the way it was. Or setup as new to start fresh. Either way get it running first before jailbreaking.
You can jailbreak it before, or after setting it up. I've done it both ways. It doesn't really matter. It just makes more sense to restore the backup first so you can get it out of the way then jailbreak.
