Default Phone bricked after latest Cydia update

last night I fired up Cydia and saw that the update badge was showing updates available. I went into upgrades and there was one for cydia so I tapped and it came up with the usual " complete, esential.." and I tapped complete.
It received some error about a missing file libactivator or something ( and that I might have to install it manually) so i just exited cydia and tried it again later. The second time it went ok and updated a bunch of stuff. I turned it off last night before going to bed and when I turned it on this morning it is in a continuous boot loop. I have tried pushing/holding both the buttons but the best I can do is get it to restart in boot mode then the loop happens all over again.

Anyone have any idea on how to get this so it will at least go into safe mode and I can use my phone?

Thanks figured that was going to be the answer. I was planning on upgrading to 5 and doing an untethered JB this weekend after reading that was available , guess I will be doing sooner rather than latter.

Well I did the untethered JB on my phone and all is well with it.
However a cydia update on my ipad this morning now has it in a reboot loop.
so in two days cydia update has bricked two of my devices, not impressed.
